The Briggs & Stratton Vanguard 613777-0014-J1 is a 36 HP, 993cc vertical-shaft engine designed for commercial and industrial outdoor power equipment applications. This Vanguard Big Block V-Twin features an overhead-valve design, cast-iron cylinder sleeves and a vertical 1-1/8-inch crankshaft.

The engine is equipped with a full-pressure lubrication system with a spin-on oil filter, 20-amp charging system, electric start, fuel pump and oil cooler. The crankshaft measures 1-1/8 inches in diameter by 4-1/2 inches long and features a 1/4-inch keyway with a 7/16-20 tapped end.
